About Us
Stockport Dental Seminars Tel: 01663 750450 Company ProfileWe were established in 1980 and for over the past 26 years have been the largest provider of private Postgraduate dental education in the UK.The office is based in Chinley in the High Peak, Northwest England and the courses are taught throughout the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. The courses focus mainly on Occlusion, TMJ and Headaches and Restorative Dentistry. They are taught by Dr. Roy Higson and have grown in popularity due to the hands-on teaching approach. We are unique in that we are the only organisation to teach equilibration on participants' own patients with the provision of articulators and facebows. All introductory occlusion theory days are purpose designed for vocational trainees, Section 63 or private groups and can be followed up by hands-on practical days. A three-day course Occlusion & Restorative Dentistry presented by Dr. Roy Higson and Dr John Bassett is the next stage after the introductory courses and is now in its 22nd year. This course gives an overview of current theory and practice of occlusion and TMJ treatment, it is a precursor to a full year hands-on, with patients, teaching programme in conjuction with the International Partnership for the Study of Occlusion(IPSO). The top international IPSO tutors are all from general practice and have over 100 combined years of experience teaching occlusal principles to dentists in America, Australia, Canada and Great Britain. All seminars are conducted locally, utilising one-to-one supervision, making this the most practical and efficient occlusion learning experiences available in dentistry. With all of the courses, we provide extensive course notes and post-course back-up.Dr Roy Higson BDS DGDP RCSThe founder of Stockport Dental Seminars and well known to many GDPs, Roy Higson is also the chairman of Talking Points in Dentistry and Better Practice.
